Who we are

Skyen Solutions is an EdTech product company operating under Qismat Ventures W.L.L. We develop digital education platforms including Studiely, Make My Lesson, and Linguatude. Our products are used by students, teachers, and learners across multiple countries.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, "Skyen Solutions", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the company operating the website at https://www.skyensolutions.com and the products accessible through it.

If you have any questions about how we handle your personal data, you can contact us at privacy@skyensolutions.com or by writing to us at our registered address in Bahrain (see Contact us).

What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit the Skyen Solutions website or use any of our platforms, why we collect it, how we use it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over your own data.

This policy applies to all visitors to our website and all registered users of our products. It does not apply to third-party websites that may be linked from our pages — those sites have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to read them.

What personal data we collect

3.1 Data you provide directly

When you create an account on any of our platforms, we collect the information you provide during registration. This typically includes your name, email address, and the curriculum or exam settings you select. On Studiely, this may also include your grade level and selected exam board. On Linguatude, this may include your target examination and current proficiency level.

If you contact us through any form or email address on our website, we collect the name and contact details you include in that message.

3.2 Data collected automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and the source of your visit. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. Full details of what Google Analytics collects and how it operates are available in Google's own privacy documentation.

This data is collected in aggregate and is used to understand how our website is used and how we can improve the experience for visitors. Retention is described in our Cookie Policy.

3.3 Data collected through product use

When you use our platforms, we collect data about your activity within those platforms. This may include topics you study, materials you generate, quiz results, study streaks, and progress measurements. This data is used to personalise your experience, track your progress, and improve our platforms.

On Linguatude, if you use the speaking practice feature, audio input is processed to evaluate your spoken responses. Audio data is processed for scoring purposes and is not retained beyond what is necessary to deliver feedback to you. A separate audio data handling notice will be presented within the Linguatude platform at the point of use.

3.4 Data we do not collect

We do not collect payment card details directly. All payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising profiling or sell it to advertising networks.

Users under the age of 18

Some of our platforms, including Studiely, are designed for use by school-age students who may be under the age of 18. We take the privacy of younger users seriously.

For users identified as being under the age of 13, or where local law requires parental consent for data collection from minors, we require a parent or legal guardian to provide consent before an account is created. Where a platform is accessed through a school or educational institution, consent processes may be managed at the institutional level.

If you believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately at support@skyensolutions.com and we will take steps to remove that data.

Parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about a minor in their care by contacting us directly.

How we use your data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account on our platforms.
  • To deliver the study materials, lesson planning outputs, or language practice content you request.
  • To personalise your experience — tracking progress, saving preferences, and adapting content to your level.
  • To send you account-related communications such as confirmation emails, password reset messages, and platform updates.
  • To analyse how our website and platforms are used so that we can improve them.
  • To comply with our legal obligations under applicable law.

We do not use your data to serve you targeted advertising. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — we work with trusted third-party technology providers who process data on our behalf, including hosting, analytics, and payment processing. These providers are bound by data processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
  • Google Analytics — our website uses Google Analytics to understand visitor behaviour. Google may process data in accordance with its own privacy policies. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose your data if required to do so by law, by a court order, or by a regulatory authority in Bahrain or any jurisdiction applicable to our operations.
  • Business transfers — if Skyen Solutions or any of its products is acquired, merged, or transferred, your data may form part of that transfer. You will be notified in advance if this affects how your data is handled.

How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as long as is necessary to provide you with our services.

If you close or delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, unless we are required by law to retain it for a longer period. Anonymised or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

Cookies and analytics data are retained in accordance with the retention periods described in our Cookie Policy.

How we protect your data

We take the security of your personal data seriously. We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and secure storage practices.

No system is completely immune to risk. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

International data transfers

Skyen Solutions is registered in Bahrain and our servers may be located in or outside Bahrain. If your data is transferred internationally, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place — including contractual protections with our service providers — to maintain the same standard of data protection regardless of where your data is processed.

For users in the European Economic Area, data transfers outside the EEA are conducted in accordance with GDPR transfer mechanisms where applicable.

Your rights

Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • The right to request deletion of your data, subject to our legal obligations.
  • The right to object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
  • The right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@skyensolutions.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our platforms, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our website or platforms after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
